Valentine’s Day Challenge - Saturday 17th February
The Valentine’s Day Challenge is a fantastic opportunity to meet sporty, like-minded people whilst having a fun day of Tag Rugby and enjoying a lively after-party.
The Try Tag Rugby Valentine’s Day Challenge has been running annually since 2015 and returns in 2018 for its fourth year. The games will take place at the brand new state of the art Waterloo venue with its excellent 3G surface.
A private after-party and awards presentation will take place at The Rose pub on the Albert Embankment, Lambeth, a 12-minute walk from the Waterloo pitches, which will run until 2am. Players will be greeted by a glass of wine (red or white) or bottle of beer on arrival.
You can sign up as an individual or with a group of friends and all standards are welcome. If you have never played before, don't worry, we will be happy to go through the rules with you before the games start.
Games will be mixed and playing in the 6-a-side format (three males, three females on the pitch). Female and male registrations will be placed into single sex groups of five players. Groups will then be paired with a group of the opposite sex to form a team.
The groups will be rotated during the day so that you play games with as many groups of the opposite sex as possible. During the day we’ll also have a men’s vs ladies’ match, featuring special rules which are always a hit!
The game format is designed to give everybody a chance to meet everybody else and put the emphasis on fun and getting to know people. There will however still be a competitive element to the day! Points will be awarded to your group for each game they win, and awards will be given to the groups with the most points, both female and male groups, at the end of the day!
