Spring & Early Summer League Registration!

Registration for our London Early Summer Leagues is now open, with most leagues beginning in the last week of April.

With mixed and men's leagues available and many venues running multiple days of the week, there are many different leagues to choose from.

Early Summer Leagues are running at ActonBalhamBoroughBrixton (Brockwell Park)Brockley - LewishamCanada WaterCanary Wharf,  Clapham CommonClapham Junction - BatterseaClapham Junction (Spencer Park)East London RFCFinsbury ParkFulhamHighbury, HoxtonKenningtonOlympic Park (North)Queen's ParkRegent's ParkRichmondShoreditchShoreditch EastWandsworth CommonWandsworth TownWaterloo and Wembley

Further venues and days may still be added.

Unfortunately due to the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting in late April no leagues will be running at Hyde Park in Early Summer 2018. Hyde Park leagues will resume for the Summer season, including the Monday women's league and Wednesday Mixed Property League. With at least 25 London venues running Early Summer Leagues, former Hyde Park teams and players have plenty of alternative options for the Early Summer Season.

In 2018 we are running a brand new Professional Services League at Canada Water on Mondays for company teams from relevant industries. Teams from the Hyde Park Property League are recommended to join this league for Early Summer.

Details of our Thames Valley (Reading), Yorkshire and Manchester leagues can be seen in their respective sections of our website.

Registration is open to whole teams, part-teams (groups) and individual players who'd like to be placed in a team. Team places are available strictly on a first to pay the deposit basis until a league sells out.

All leagues come with post-match social venues so that you can socialise with your team mates and opposition. Leagues vary in length, but are generally 8 games for the Early Summer Season. Leagues vary in details, please see the links below for the specific information on each league including pricing, which is worked out per game. See our FAQ section for general information.

Due to Hyde Park being unavailable in Early Summer, capacity in our Early Summer Leagues is slightly limited, meaning competition for spaces in most leagues is fierce. We strongly recommend registering and confirming your place as early as possible, ideally by the 17 day existing team priority window to reduce the risk of missing out.

A large number of Free Taster Sessions for new players are scheduled during the first three weeks of April. Early Summer is the perfect time for new players to join leagues, with a large influx of new players able to learn the game together. In 2018 we have specifically named a number of leagues to run beginner only grades. These league are likely to get a large number of new players. However if you are a beginner most other leagues will also have beginner - intermediate grades which are perfectly fine for learning the game in your first season.

Registration

Registration is open to whole teams, part-teams and individual players who'd like to be placed in a team. Registration closes six days before the respective league starting date unless space in a particular league is listed above. Team places are available on a first to pay the deposit basis, with c urrent teams given a priority window  of 11am, 6th April for most leagues (see below for full details & exact dates) to confirm their place in their league of choice. Many of the popular venues will sell-out well before the registration closing date. In this instance team registrations will be confirmed on a first to pay the deposit basis. To register for any Try Tag Rugby league or event listed above please click on the following links:

Note: Any team organisers looking to re-register an existing team should login to their account here, and re-enter the team for a new league through the my teams tab on your player dashboard.

All team registrations are not confirmed until a deposit payment of £100 has been paid. For players registering individually, your place is not confirmed until the full registration fee has been paid. Registration closes six days before the respective league starting date or whenever a league becomes full.

Leagues will fill up quickly! Team places are secured on a first to pay the league deposit basis. Don't leave confirming your registration until the last minute or your team may miss out!

17 Day Priority Window

Due to strong demand for all our leagues we have put rules in place to ensure existing teams have every opportunity to rejoin their current league. Hence all leagues have an existing team priority window. For most Early Summer Leagues this window is 11am, 6th April. The only exceptions are Clapham & Balham Saturday (11am, 28th March) and Clapham Sunday (11am, 22nd March).

Once this window has closed we will allocate places in a league to teams who have registered and paid the £100 deposit confirming their place, based on the following priority system.

1. Existing teams who are currently playing at this league in the most recent season (if the league is currently running)*.

2. Teams moving from other Try Tag Rugby leagues where a league is not being run in the new season. This excludes leading into the Early Summer season where all teams playing during Spring are free to change venues and can still be counted as category 2. Or teams which registered and paid a deposit at this venue for the previous season but missed out due the league being oversubscribed.

3. Whole teams of individually registered players or teams that previously played at the respective league within the previous three seasons.

4. New teams, teams looking to move league or teams which haven't played for three or more seasons.

Where multiple teams fit in a category above, they will be prioritised in order of when they paid the £100 deposit to confirm their place.

Where multiple teams fit in a category above, they will be prioritised in order of when they paid the £100 deposit to confirm their place.

Once the 17-day priority window has closed registrations will continue to be taken on a first to register and pay the deposit basis until the league becomes full. Exact priority windows by league can be seen on the details / map page for each respective league, linked from the table above.

*Leagues Closed for Registration

For a small number of our most popular venues where demand for places usually far outstrips the number of places available in this league, registration will remain closed until 21 days prior to the league beginning. For Early Summer 2018 this will apply to Waterloo Monday only.

For these leagues existing teams will be automatically re-registered by Try Tag Rugby and given a period of up to 21-days to before the new season begins, for the captain to login and confirm the team place by paying the £100 deposit.

After this point in time, all teams which aren't re-confirmed will be removed from the league and existing priority rules as above will then apply, with the exception that existing teams who are currently playing in the league, will drop from Priority 1, to Priority 2, meaning they are at risk of losing their place to another Priority 2 team.

Tag Rugby Shorts

Official Try Tag Rugby shorts or Try Tag Rugby ladies' tights (or International Tag Federation approved brands) must be purchased before taking to the pitch in all Try Tag Rugby leagues.

Tag shorts can always be bought from Try Tag Rugby staff by paying £12 in cash at all our leagues or events. Tag shorts (£12) and tights (£23) can also be purchased in our online shop, to be either picked up at your venue or to be posted out. If you already have a pair of Tag Rugby shorts or Tag Rugby tights, please note due to safety reasons (ie length of the shorts being longer than the tags) and consistency (ie strength and location of the Velcro patch) the only other brands of Tag shorts or Tag tights we allow in our leagues are brands sanctioned by the International Tag Federation (ITF) such are Oztag (or OES), SAS (NZ Tag Football) and ITRA (Ireland). Your shorts must have the Try Tag Rugby logo or the logo of one of the other full ITF member nations on them to be allowed to be worn in our leagues. Homemade shorts, any other brands of shorts (both UK made or abroad) and Tag Rugby belts are strictly not allowed to be worn in our leagues or events on safety and consistency grounds!

Talent Cap

Please be aware that in all our leagues and events there is a talent cap, in place to spread our international players across various teams. If you are looking to create a high  level team full of international players, click here to make sure you are aware of the regulations.

Weekend Tournaments, Festivals & Social Events

Try Tag Rugby are also running a number of weekend tournaments and festivals throughout the year. If you are interested in attending these events, please click here for detials.

Refereeing

As the number of teams in our leagues continues to grow, we are on the lookout for experienced players or people with experience of refereeing other sports to get involved as referees.
