Winter League Registration!
Registration for our Winter Leagues is now open, with leagues scheduled to kick-off from Monday 30th October.
Only the leagues that are currently played on Astro Turf or 3G will run over Winter. This unfortunately means our Monday night Alwoodley league will be taking a break until February next year. The following Autumn Leagues will therefore be running: Wakefield - Wakefield Sports Club (Monday), Bradford & Bingley (Tuesday), Leeds - Cross Gates, John Smeaton (Tuesday), Leeds - Weetwood Sports Park (Wednesday) and Bradford - Southfield Grange College (Thursday).
All leagues will be mixed with 6-a-side leagues consisting of four males and two females while in 7-a-side leagues teams will consist of four males and three females. Most leagues are for all standards however for those wanting to test themselves at a higher level, the Leeds - Weetwood League will be running an A Grade division in addition to a Beginner/Intermediate division.
Registration for all Winter Leagues is open to whole teams, part-teams (groups) and individual players who'd like to be placed in a team. Team places are available strictly on a first to pay the deposit basis until a league sells out.
All leagues come with post-match social venues so that you can socialise with your team mates and opposition. Most Winter Leagues are slightly longer than during the rest of the year with three out of the five leagues having 9 games instead of 8. Where this is the case the price of the league has been proportionally increased to account for the extra week. All Winter Leagues will be split either side of the Christmas with 5-6 Rounds being played before Christmas and the remaining 3-4 Rounds being played after Christmas. Specific details for the leagues vary, therefore please see the links in the table below for specific information on each league including pricing. For more general information on Tag Rugby and how our leagues work, please watch our ‘What is Tag Rugby?’ video to the right or see our FAQ section.
Due to a shortage of floodlit astro turf and 3G venues in Leeds and West Yorkshire we have not been able to add any further venues for the Winter season. With Alwoodley not running over Winter this means there will be one fewer venue running than in Autumn, the competition for spaces in most leagues is therefore likely to be high with most leagues expected to fill up. We strongly recommend registering and confirming your place as early as possible. Existing teams have a priority deadline of Friday 20th October to register for their existing league, see the section containing details of the Existing Team Priority Deadline below for more details.
If you don't currently play and would like to give Tag Rugby a Try before deciding whether to join a league or if you know somebody who might be interested in giving it a try, we have a small number of Free Taster Sessions scheduled for October, please click here for details.

Registration is open to whole teams, part-teams and individual players who would like to be placed in a team. Registration for the leagues closes 6 days before the respective league starting date unless space in a particular league is listed above. Team places are available on a first to pay the deposit basis, with current teams given a priority window until the end of Friday 20th October. A number of venues are likely to sell out before the registration closing date and more than likely before the priority window closes. Details of how the priority window works are included in the section below. To register for any Try Tag Rugby Yorkshire league or event please click on one of the following links:
Note: Any team organisers looking to re-register an existing team should login to their account here, and re-enter the team for a new league through the my teams tab on your player dashboard.
Leagues are likely to fill up quickly! Team places are available on a first to pay the £100 depsoit basis with existing teams given a priority windown until the end of Friday 20th October. Don't leave confirming your registration until the last minute or your team may miss out! For players registering individually, your place is not confirmed until the full registration fee has been paid. Registration closes six days before the respective league starting date or whenever a league becomes full.
With one fewer venue running in Winter than Autumn, demand for places in certain leagues is likely to be high. As a result we have put the following rules in place to ensure existing teams have every opportunity to rejoin their current league. A existing team priority deadline of Friday 20th October exists for all Yorkshire leagues.
During this priority window we will allocate places in a league to teams who have registered and paid the £100 deposit confirming their place, based on the following priority system.
1. Existing teams who are currently playing at this league in the most recent season.
2. Teams moving from other Try Tag Rugby leagues where a league is not being run in the new season.
3. Teams that previously played at the respective league within the previous three seasons.
4. New teams or teams looking to move league.
Where multiple teams fit in a category above, they will be prioritised in order of when they paid the £100 deposit to confirm their place.
Once the priorty deadline has passed registrations will continue to be taken on a first to register and pay the deposit basis until the league becomes full.
Tag Rugby Shorts
Official Try Tag Rugby shorts or Try Tag Rugby ladies' tights (or International Tag Federation approved brands) must be purchased before taking to the pitch in all Try Tag Rugby leagues.
Tag shorts can always be bought from Try Tag Rugby staff by paying £12 in cash at all our leagues or events. Tag shorts (£12) and tights (£23) can also be purchased in our online shop, to be either picked up at your venue or to be posted out. If you already have a pair of Tag Rugby shorts or Tag Rugby tights, please note due to safety reasons (ie length of the shorts being longer than the tags) and consistency (ie strength and location of the Velcro patch) the only other brands of Tag shorts or Tag tights we allow in our leagues are brands sanctioned by the International Tag Federation (ITF) such are Oztag, SAS (NZ Tag Football) and ITRA (Ireland). Your shorts must have the Try Tag Rugby logo or the logo of one of the other ITF organisations on them to be allowed to be worn in our leagues. Homemade shorts, any other brands of shorts (both UK made or abroad) and Tag Rugby belts are strictly not allowed on safety and consistency grounds!
