Great Britain Coaching & Manager Applications

Try Tag Rugby is looking to appoint head coaches, assistant coaches and team managers for our four Great Britain representative teams that we will be sending to the 2018 Tag World Cup in Australia from the 1st to 4th of November.

Whilst all roles are voluntary, Try Tag Rugby will be looking to assist coaches with subsidised accommodation costs in Australia, along with free kit allocation for the campaign.

NOTE: The Great Britain team formats will be decided after the open trials, once we see what talent is available and in what categories will give us our best chances for success.

HEAD COACH & ASSISTANT COACH

Coaches should have previous coaching experience/qualifications in Tag Rugby or another sport, and must have an excellent understanding of Tag Rugby. Coaches can also be current high-level Tag Rugby players.

Coaches will need to be available regularly to train their team on Sunday’s from 15th April onwards and be available for the 2018 Tag World Cup in Australia. You will be able to call on your Assistant Coach to cover sessions from time to time if you are unavailable on the odd occasions.

The Head Coach is allowed to be a playing member of their own team but candidates will strictly not be allowed as Head Coach of one team and a player in another team. We believe that you won’t be able to give both roles the attention and commitment they deserve.

We would prefer for the Head Coach to be a non-player to fully focus on their role but we will allow exceptions for the right candidates.

The Assistant Coach will be permitted to coach one team and play for another team (or their own team) if they wish to do so.
