The team at Try Tag Rugby are delighted to announce the London Residents squads which will be taking on the Great Britain & Ireland World Cup squads on Saturday, 21st July as part of their preparations for the 2012 Tag Rugby World Cup to be held in Auckland, New Zealand in December.

The three match series in the Men's & Mixed formats were scheduled to be played at the Finsbury Park athletics stadium but due to the constant wet weather recently, the pitches are currently unplayable.

The series between the London Residents Vs Great Britain & Ireland World Cup squads will now take place at Twyford Avenue Sports Ground in Acton with the first match kicking off at 12pm.

The series will consist of three x 40 minute matches in each of the Men's & Mixed divisions throughout the day and be played under International rules.

The London Residents squads are made up of players residing in London regardless of nationality and on paper look to offer some strong opposition to the World Cup squads.

This will be the second ever series the London Residents have participated in. In 2011, the London Residents fought out a three game series against the world champion, Oztag Australia squads in Mixed, Men's and Men's over 30's formats.

All players are advised to arrive no later then 11.15am at Twyford Avenue Sports Ground so you have time to get changed, warm up etc... The first fixture will start at 12pm sharp.

After the 3 match series there will be an after match presentation at the Wasps FC onsite bar and an after party at the nearby Chatsworth Pub. There will be some fantastic Tag Rugby on display and spectators are welcome to attend! We hope to see you there.

London Residents Vs Great Britain & Ireland, 21st July - Article 13/06/12

To help prepare the Great Britain & Ireland World Cup squads for their World Cup campaign in Auckland, New Zealand in December this year, Try Tag Rugby and the World Cup organising committee have decided to stage a series (Men's & Mixed) against the London Residents on Saturday, 21st of July at Finsbury Park.

The series will consist of three x 40 minute matches in each of the Men's and Mixed divisions throughout the day.

The London Residents teams will be made up of the best players in London regardless of nationality and offer strong opposition for the World Cup squads.

This will be the second ever series the London Residents have participated in. In 2011, the London Residents fought out a three game series against the might of Oztag Australia at Mixed, Men's and Men's over 30's levels.

The London Residents Mixed squad even managed a tightly contested 7-2 loss to the hands of the world champion Oztag Australia side, showcasing the strength of the players in London.

The cost to get involved with the London Residents team is £13 for the day which entitles you to the three x 40 minute matches as well as an after match function and prizes on offer.

The popular London Residents kit will also be available to purchase until Friday, 29th June. Playing shirts retail for £20 each and Tag Rugby shorts for £15 each (Note the kit is optional).
