The Try Tag Rugby inaugural London origin fixture was won by North London last Saturday, the 30th of October at Battersea Park.

In a thrilling encounter, South London led 6-3 at the half-time interval and was up 8-6 with 5 minutes remaining. North London made a courageous comeback to seal a nail biting 9-8 victory.

Eligibility guidelines were based on where the player lived. To be eligible for North London, the player had to live north of the Thames River and to be eligible for South London, live south of the Thames.

North London team captain, Tim Ross was named “Best on Ground”. Other awards went to Kylie Jendra (South London – “Best Female Player”), Arron Lombardo (South London – “Best Male South London Player”) & Melissa Spero (North London – “Best Female North London Player”).

The curtain raiser fixture between North London & South London in the social division was won by South London 12-6. South London went to an early 4-0 lead and North London never recovered. South London led at the half-time interval 6-1 and continued strongly throughout the 2nd half to secure a victory for South London.

Nate Cutforth of South London was awarded, “Best on Ground”. Other awards went to Belinda Walmsley (South London - “Best Female Player”), Andy Dickins (North London - “Best Male North London Player”) & Maree Steunebrink (North London - “Best Female North London Player”)
