A merged squad of Wednesday night Finsbury Park competition side, Nuts n Jugs and Thursday night Gladstone Park competition side, Ref’s Fault took out the Harlequins RL mixed Tag Rugby Festival on Saturday the 31st of July.

The Try Tag Rugby London Australian representative mixed Tag Rugby side overcame a gallant London England team last Saturday, 18-10 at Battersea Park.

The representative fixture which featured in the Wandsworth council’s Get Active Festival produced some fantastic displays of Tag Rugby in a highly entertaining encounter.

The London Australians who were led by Eye of the Tagger’s, Caliph Snedden looked in control from the get go, taking an early 3-0 lead. The Aussies went into the half-time break 11-5 in front.

The determined English came out strong in the 2^nd half and clawed the margin back to 13-9 but the Aussies were too strong in the final 10 minutes with a host of female tries (worth 2 points each) to seal an 18-10 victory.

Lee Miller was named “Best on Ground” for London England with a 5 try performance. Aaron Lombardo of London Australia was awarded “Player of the Match”.

Try Tag Rugby would like to remind everyone that Tag Rugby shorts are compulsory to compete in our week night competitions. Tag Rugby shorts make for a cleaner and safer game for all involved.

Starting Monday 26th July, Tag Rugby belts will no longer be available to borrow in week night competitions. On the rare occasion that you forget your shorts or have a fill in player, shorts will able be available to rent at £5 a pair.

Try Tag Rugby would like to announce opportunities to join some competitions for the remainder of the season. Registration fees will be charged at the pro-rata rate of £5 per game. So for instance if you join in round 4, you will pay £25 registration fees to cover the remainder of an 8 round competition.
