Full Contact Rugby Opportunities
Try Tag Rugby would like to make mention of opportunities to play Rugby League and Rugby Union across London through our partners the Rugby Football League and also through our friends at Hampstead and Haringey Rugby Union clubs.
There are numerous opportunities to play Rugby League in London and surrounding areas with clubs now in all corners of London. Whilst Rugby League has traditionally been viewed as a men’s sport, there are now opportunities for women to take up the game. The RFL are holding some one day festivals:
Saturday 10th July @ South London Saturday 31st July @ TBC
There are currently four RL clubs running Women’s activity and these include St Albans Centurions, London Skolars (Wood Green), South London Storm (Mitcham) and West London Sharks (Osterly). There has also been interest shown from a number of Women’s Rugby Union clubs in taking part in the tournaments. If you are interested in playing Women’s Rugby League for one of the existing teams in the summer or have a team that would be interested in entering some or all of the competitions, please contact Steve Davis on 07703 105381 or

For those wishing to start a new team, there are many professional staff members who would be able to support your team by leading a few coaching sessions or even possibly commit to a full coaching role. Once again, contact Steve Davis for more details. For all information on London Rugby League see www.londonrl.com.
For those more interested in the 15 a side game, Hampstead Rugby Union Club is having an Open Day on Saturday 10th July from 10:30- 16:00, on Hampstead Heath, next to Parliament hill running track. So come down, enjoy a picnic and experience the game. They have 6 Men’s teams and are working towards having 2 Women’s teams and are the largest ‘playing’ club in what can be described as Central London. They also recently started a Juniors section for 7-14 year olds. They also cater for all levels and the social scene is great. For more info check out our their website www.hampsteadrugbyclub.co.uk or email

Lastly we can’t forget our friends at Haringey Rhinos RFC, the current reigning Finsbury Park men’s Tag Rugby champions and Skolars festival champions. The Rhinos have just begun pre-season and are looking for new players to join their friendly club. For more information visit http://haringeyrhinos.co.uk/.
