4th Birthday Thames River Cruise

Try Tag Rugby is turning four and everyone is invited! Come and party with Try Tag Rugby on the Thames river cruise which will pass some of London's most famous landmarks. All whilst DJ Yaxman (AKA referee Jason Yaxley) spins some of your favourite tunes!

This event takes place on Friday, 13th September. The boat departs from Westminster Pier (closest station Westminster) at 6.45pm, returning to Temple Pier at 11.30pm. Reasonably priced drinks are available on board. The dress code for the night is smart casual.

Tickets for the Thames cruise are £18 and guests are welcome. This year's cruise is half an hour longer and £1 cheaper, providing great value for a Thames river cruise with entertainment! Afterwards all players will receive free entry into the Temple Walkabout, which is open until 2am.

Carnegie Challenge Cup Final – August 25th 2012 at Wembley

The Challenge Cup is Rugby League's most historic and prestigious competition and is the only knock-out tournament of its kind to include teams from all levels of the sport.

It is an eight month long competition that climaxes with a spectacular final at Wembley Stadium, which not only attracts fans from both competing finalists but the whole Rugby League community. This year's final takes place between two of Rugby League's strongest clubs, the Leeds Rhinos and the Warrington Wolves.

Try Tag Rugby has bought a limited number of £31 tickets, which are available to registered players and friends for the discounted price of £27 a ticket. Our tickets are for the lower bowl of Wembley Stadium, which guarantees a great view and cracking atmosphere. To buy tickets, please purchase from the Try Tag Rugby shop ASAP to avoid missing out.

2011 Christmas Party

The team at Try Tag Rugby would like to invite all members, partners and friends to the 2011 Try Tag Rugby Christmas party to be held at Phibbers Pub on Friday, December 2nd.

Phibbers Pub is located at 203 Holloway Road, N7 8DL. The closest stations are Holloway Road (Piccadilly line), Highbury & Islington (Victoria line) and Drayton Park (overground). Click here for a map of the venue.

Try Tag Rugby will have all of level 2 reserved for the private function which can cater for upto 150 guests. Level 2 will have it's own private bar and toilet facilities. There will also be a DJ present so we can dance the night away!

The Christmas party will start at 7.30pm and finish at 3am.

Food will be available to purchase between 7.30pm - 8.30pm for £6 per plate (maximum 80 plates). The Food will consist of Phibber's famous chicken, chips and pasta salad. The food will be served on a first come, first serve basis. 

Beverages will be available to purchase all night with alcoholic drinks starting from £3.30 for pints of beer, £3.60 for house wines and £3.30 for single mixers.

The dress code for the evening is smart casual and entry is free to all Try Tag Rugby members and guests.

This event takes place on Friday, 9th September. The boat departs from Westminster Pier (closest station Westminster) at 7.30pm, returning at 11.30pm. Reasonably priced drinks are available on board. The dress code for the night is smart casual.

Tickets for the Thames cruise are £17 for players who have played in a 2011 Try Tag Rugby league and £20 for guests. This is great value for a 4 hour Thames river cruise with entertainment! Official pre and post cruise venues will be announced shortly.

Due to the populairty of previous Try Tag Rugby socials, this event is likely to sell out. This cruise can cater for up to 120 guests so don't delay buying your ticket to avoid missing out! Christmas Party

The 2010 Try Tag Rugby Christmas Party was held at Waxy O'Connor's on Friday the 3rd of December.

The event celebrated a fantastic year of Tag Rugby.

We had an area reserved from 6pm through until 1am. Afterwards, players kicked on at a club around the corner.

Over 100 players attended the event making it the most successful Try Tag Rugby social to date.

The 2011 Christmas Party will be held on December 2nd.

Social Events

Playing Tag Rugby is not just about running around once a week passing a rugby ball. All Try Tag Rugby competitions have recommended local pubs where you can network and socialise after your match. Playing Tag Rugby is a great way to meet people in London and a social and healthy environment. Try Tag Rugby is undoubtedly one of London's friendliest social sports clubs.

Since launching in August 2009, Try Tag Rugby London has put on 3 social events for members. The 2009 Christmas Party featured a mini pub crawl from the Faltering Fullback at Finsbury Park to a couple of pubs in Angel and then the I Love the 90s night at the Carling Academy. Rumour has it there was even an after party!

The 2010 season launch was held Gigalum in Clapham South. The night kicked on late with a large number of players descending on the People's Replublic at Clapham to dance the night away.

The mid summer social 2010 was held at Oktoberfest in Fulham. A great number of German beers were sampled and a good time was had by all.
