Thames Valley Tag Rugby Championships - Saturday 21st July

The second annual Thames Valley Tag Rugby Championships will take place on Saturday 21st July at the University of Reading

The Championships will see teams from the Monday League in the Thames Valley region coming together with teams from London and further afield. Like all Try Tag Rugby one day tournaments there will be a prize giving presentation and post tournament party.

Teams and players new to Tag Rugby are more than welcome to get involved with a rules briefing being provided before the games get underway.

The University of Reading is a 7-minute drive from Reading train station.

The tournament will kick-off at 12pm and reach a conclusion at approximately 5.30pm.

We would love to welcome our Tag Rugby friends from around the UK, Ireland and the rest of the world to come and join the fun at the second Thames Valley Tag Rugby Championships.

You can get from London to Reading via train from Paddington station in under an hour and it's only an hour and a half drive away from central London. With advance tickets and group ticket offers there is no need to break the bank.

To ensure your team is graded and seeded correctly please ensure that your squad list is up to date in the system by the registration deadline of 9am Monday 16th July.

If your festival team is significantly stronger or weaker than your usual weekly team but you will be using the same team name, please email info@trytagrugby.com to let us know before we seed the teams.

For long running teams with a slightly different squad to normal, we recommend you set-up a “Festival” version of your team within our system by registering a new team, so that you can just include your players taking part on the day.

Note: Please be aware that there is a talent cap on International representative players in place for this Festival which may affect your team. For more details click here.

The Thames Valley Tag Rugby Championships will be in the mixed 7-a-side format and matches will be played under standard Try Tag Rugby A-grade rules. All standard teams are welcome to enter as pending on team numbers we will break away into Cup, Plate & Bowl divisions after the pool stage so you'll get to play against teams of similar standard.

Players will only be allowed to participate in one team throughout the day.

Team entry costs £170 per team.
Deadline for deposits: 11am, Tuesday 17th July.

Individual entry costs £20

If you don’t have a team, Try Tag Rugby also accepts individual registrations, where we will place you in a team for the cost of £20. If you've only got part of a team available please email info@trytagrugby.com and we can not only help you find extra players, but also quote you a reasonable part-team price.

Registration is open to teams, groups and individual players who'd like to be placed in a team. Team places are available on a first to pay the deposit basis. Existing players looking to re-register an existing team should login to their account first before clicking on register a team below.

(Ideal if you only have some of your team available on the day)

A post tournament party will take place at the Queens Head, just a short walk from Reading University.

We’ll have a shop available throughout the day selling various Tag Rugby shorts and tights.
