Coventry & Warwickshire Summer Tournament 2025

Leamington RFC is the place to be this July for Coventry & Warwickshire’s summer tournament. Usually attracting a handful of travelling teams plus many local teams, this Midlands based, very accessible summer tournament is relaxed, fun, great spirited and always competitive on the field.

FORMAT

The first matches of the Coventry & Warwickshire summer tournament will kick-off at 11am and culminate with the Grand Final on the main pitch, in front of the clubhouse usually around 4pm. The winners’ presentations will take place shortly after the final.

All teams will play through the pool stages to determine which division they will make it into.

• All teams will have a guaranteed game time of 90 minutes
• Maximum of 12 players per squad and a maximum of 4 male players on the pitch at any one time
• All squads can have a maximum of four internationally capped players
• All players must be registered for insurance purposes
• Players must be 16 or over to participate in the tournament and/or attend the after party
• Teams will be seeded based on submitted squads. Squads must be complete by Friday 5th July.
• Seeding is done at the discretion of Try Tag Rugby, incomplete squads may result in higher seeding than expected
• Consumption of alcohol by players is prohibited until the tournament has concluded

PRESENTATION

On completion of the finals, the presentation will take place on the main terrace outside the clubhouse with multiple picnic tables available for teams outside for a few relaxed beverages and a chilled vibe. The last few years the sun has shone long into the evening, but there is always the vibrant Leamington Spa town just three minutes in a taxi away which has plenty of bars and clubs.

AFTER PARTY

Coventry & Warwickshire summer tournament 2025 is a non-ticketed event. With plenty of entertainment on and off the field, we would encourage friends & family of those participating to come along for the day & evening to take in the flavour of the event. The clubhouse will be open for post-tournament refreshments but the nightlife of Royal Leamington Spa is just a few minutes away!

VENUE

This year’s summer tournament will be hosted at Leamington RFC (Kenilworth Rd, Blackdown, Leamington Spa CV32 6RG), just 4 minutes in the car to Leamington Spa town centre and 10 mins to Leamington Spa train station. Free onsite parking is available.

Leamington RFC is located just outside the beautiful Warwickshire Spa Town of Royal Leamington Spa. For touring teams, this is the only Midlands tournament and it is perfectly located for welcoming teams from all corners of the country. Royal Leamington Spa is just over an hour on the train from central London, only two hours from Bristol in the South and Manchester in the North so take your team on tour and make a weekend of it.

ON THE DAY

All teams and players will be required to arrive at the venue in order to register at least one hour before kick off with the first games starting at 11am. Exact registration opening times will be confirmed in the welcome email. Play will be completed for 17:00.

FOOD & DRINK

Food and drink will be available on the day at the Clubhouse Cafe from 10am. All alcohol must be purchased on site.

SPECTATORS

Spectators are more than welcome, so make sure you bring your friends and family to enjoy the day and all it has to offer in the evening.

PLAYING KIT

ITF approved Tag Rugby shorts or tights are strictly compulsory. Shorts will be available to buy via card on the day.

Shorts will also be available to hire on the day for £5.

REGISTRATION

Team registration is available at the cost of £200 for squads of 12.

If your usual team can’t play or you just fancy a bit of a change, don’t worry, you can always register for the tournament as an individual for £25 and we will assign you to a bespoke Individuals’ Team of a similar standard or place you on a team that has requested additional players.
