TagFest Oxford 2025

Oxford, the historic City of Dreaming Spires, is the perfect backdrop for TagFest Oxford 2025! Famous for its stunning architecture, world-renowned university, and vibrant pub scene, Oxford offers plenty to explore beyond the tag rugby pitch. Wander through centuries-old colleges, punt along the River Thames, or soak in the buzzing atmosphere of its independent cafes, lively bars, and riverside beer gardens. Whether you’re looking for culture, adventure, or a legendary team night out, this is your chance to turn TagFest Oxford into an unforgettable weekend away!

WHAT TO EXPECT

• 90 minutes of game time
• Pool stages followed by a Cup, Plate, Bowl or Shield competition
• Food vendors & bars available
• After-party and fancy dress parade
• TagFest Oxford custom design shorts and tights on sale
• Free Camping all weekend long, with showers and toilets available

TAG RUGBY FORMAT

• Maximum of 12 players per squad, maximum 4 male players on the pitch at any one time
• All teams will play Try Tag Rugby’s standard rules in a 7-a-side format
• All players must be registered for insurance purposes
• Players must be 16 or over to participate in the tournament and/or attend the after party
• Teams will be seeded based on submitted squads. Squads must be complete by 5pm on Friday, 18th July
• Seeding is done at the discretion of Try Tag Rugby, incomplete squads may result in higher seeding than expected
• Consumption of alcohol by players is prohibited until the tournament has concluded
• All teams can have no more than four internationally capped players per squad

PRESENTATION & AFTER PARTY

On completion of the finals, the presentations will take place at Oxford Rugby Football Club before the after party kicks-off. Final details on the after-party will be confirmed nearer the time.

VENUE

The 2025 tournament will take place at Oxford Rugby Football Club, North Hinksey Sports Park, End of North Hinksey Village, Oxford, Oxon. OX2 ONA. Which is a picturesque walk just a 30 minutes from Oxford train station. Located near North Hinskey just off the A34. There is free onsite car parking for travelling teams wishing to drive, however we’d encourage all attendees to arrive by public transport where possible.

Full female and male changing facilities are available on site for use before, during and after the tournament – particularly important for getting yourself changed into your after party outfit once the games are finished. Please note, dogs are permitted at this venue, however strict control of your dog is required.

ON THE DAY

All teams and players will be required to arrive at the venue in order to register at least one hour before kick off with the games scheduled to take place between 11am and 6pm. Exact registration opening times will be confirmed in the welcome email. The winners’ presentation will follow the Cup Grand Final with the official after party then running until midnight.

FOOD & DRINK

We will have food vendors onsite throughout the day’s play and into the evening providing a variety of culinary options for teams and spectators. The clubhouse bar will keep the drinks flowing during the best after party of the year! All alcohol must be purchased on site.

PLAYING KIT

ITF approved Tag Rugby shorts or tights are compulsory, available via card at our shop on the day. A limited number of shorts will also be available to hire on the day for £5.

STANDARD

• Teams will start in open pools at the start of the day. For the second half of the festival teams will split into four divisions..

REGISTRATION

Team registration is available at the cost of £225 for squads of 12.

Individuals can register for £26. If registering as an individual we’ll add you to a team or create a team of other individuals.

The registration deadline for the event is 5pm pm Friday 18th July unless the event sells out earlier.
