BRIEFING DOCUMENT
An in depth briefing document for the 2025 UK Tag Nationals can be accessed here. We would strongly encourage all coaches, managers and players to read the brief in order to fully understand the event.

VENUE
We are very excited to be able to announce the University of Nottingham’s Highfield Sports Complex as the host venue of the 2025 UK Tag Nationals and British & Irish Cup. The world class facilities were used this summer to host the Touch World Cup and as a result are perfectly set-up to provide us with the ideal venue for our highest level tournaments.
With two centrally located clubhouses there are ample changing, toilet and shower facilities onsite as well as multiple water points, addressing one of the key issues at the 2024 tournament. All of the pitches are grass with the main clubhouse providing us with an event management hub where we will also be able to livestream Pitch 1 and 2.

TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION
Nottingham is centrally located, with good rail and road links to all parts of the UK. With the UK Tag Nationals scheduled to run from 09:00-19:00, it is expected most teams & players will stay in Nottingham on Friday night and potentially Saturday night as well. We are currently in discussions with a hotel partner close to the venue. Details will be announced in due course.

For Regional tournaments, whilst we are working hard to secure 3G all weather pitches or venues with exceptional drainage, we would recommend travelling there and back on the day to minimise the risk of being out of pocket should the March weather cause a cancellation.

FOOD, DRINK AND AFTER PARTY
Try Tag Rugby and the University of Nottingham will be combining to provide an increased food and drink offering compared to the 2024 tournament that will keep players energised and hydrated throughout the day. The awards presentation will take place onsite before the official after party progresses to a venue in Nottingham city centre later in the evening.

SPONSORSHIP
Sponsorship is being sought both for the tournament as a whole and for individual teams. Coaches, managers, players and supporters are encouraged to share the linked sponsor brochure in an effort to reduce costs for players involved.

The sponsorship brochure can be viewed and shared here

PLAYING KIT
Coventry & Warwickshire, Edinburgh, Manchester, Newcastle, South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, Wigan, York will all receive new kit for 2025 either due to feedback from players and Regional Managers or due to a required branding update

Brighton & Hove, Bristol, East London, North London, South London, Thames Valley, West London will reuse their 2023/24 UK Tag Nationals for 2025 before receiving a new kit in 2026.

Following training squad selections in December players are encouraged but not required to buy kit during the first kit order window open until 10th January. Players will be allowed to play in the Regional tournament even if they are not wearing the region’s kit.

Following final squad selections in March players selected for the UK Tag Nationals who do not have their region’s latest kit are required to purchase it by 1st April. Players will only be allowed to play in the UK Tag Nationals if they are wearing the correct kit.

REGISTRATION
As this is a representative tournament, selection for your region is not guaranteed. To be considered for selection, you must nominate yourself by registering via the links below. Applications are open now and will close at 12pm on Thursday 12th December unless advertised as earlier in your region. The 2025 UK Tag Nationals training squads will then be announced no later than Thursday 19th December with successful and unsuccessful players notified by email prior to this.

Nominations are a two stage process. You should first follow the links below to register yourself on the system before following the link on registration confirmation screen or in the email you will receive in order to complete the second part of the process on a google form.

Most regions will be holding trials to help managers and coaches select the teams. Although players are encouraged to attend any trials being held in your region, people who are genuinely unable to attend trials will still be considered for selection. Registering for trials and nominating yourself for selection are two separate processes and you must do both if you are going to trial.
