WOMEN’S & MEN’S TAG RUGBY TOURNAMENT 2024

After making a popular return to the Try Tag Rugby tournament calendar last year, we are pleased to confirm that the TTR Women’s & Men’s Tournament will again take place at Wasps FC this year with an expanded capacity and an earlier slot in the calendar, taking place on Saturday 21st September.

The tournament provides players of all levels with the opportunity to play competitive tag rugby outside of the traditional mixed format and instead test themselves in a single gender format.

In order to sustainably grow the competition in its second year back in the calendar both the women’s and the men’s divisions are limited to a 12 team capacity and will be played in the 7-a-side format due to the space available at Wasps FC.

The tournament will have an afternoon start time to avoid clashes with the Saturday leagues.

FORMAT

• All teams will have a guaranteed game time of 90 minutes with 12 team spaces in each of the Women’s & Men’s Divisions
• Maximum of 12 players per squad
• Both the Women’s & Men’s Divisions will play in the 7-a-side format, according to the latest version of the ITF’s Rulebook
• All players must be registered for insurance purposes
• Teams will be seeded based on submitted squads. Squads must be complete by 4th September
• Seeding is done at the discretion of Try Tag Rugby, incomplete squads may result in higher seeding than expected
• Consumption of alcohol is prohibited until the tournament has concluded

VENUE
The Women’s & Men’s Tournament 2024 will take place at Wasps FC, Twyford Avenue Sports Ground, Twyford Ave, W3 9QA, just a ten minute walk from Ealing Common tube station. The venue is also only ten minutes drive from Hangar Lane Gyratory and the A40 for those wishing to come by car, however we would encourage all players to arrive by public transport where possible.

ON THE DAY
Teams will be welcome to arrive onsite from 13:00 with the first games starting at 14:00. All players should be onsite at least 30 minutes before their first game. Play will be completed by 19:00.

We will have two food vendors onsite throughout the day ensuring you are well fed between and after your matches. The club bar will be open following the tournament, to make sure you can enjoy the usual TTR tournament after party!

Spectators are welcome free of charge but cannot bring dogs or alcohol onsite.

PLAYING KIT
ITF approved Tag Rugby shorts or tights are compulsory, available from the Try Tag Rugby shop in advance or via card on the day. Details on ITF Approved (Tag Rugby) Shorts / Details on Kit Items not Permitted. A limited number of shorts will also be available to hire on the day.

REGISTRATION
Team registration is available at the cost of £235 for squads of 12.

If your usual team can’t play or you just fancy a bit of a change, don’t worry, you can always register for the tournament as an individual for £24 and we will assign you to a bespoke Individuals’ Team of a similar standard.
