Yorkshire 10th birthday men’s & women’s charity tournament

Try Tag Rugby expanded to the North in 2015, and now, a decade later, we’re celebrating with a Men’s and Women’s charity tournament!

WHAT TO EXPECT

• 4 Men’s and 4 Women’s teams.
• 70 minutes of game time.
• Round Robin format culminating in a final.
• Full international rules.
• Travelling teams/players are welcome.

TAG RUGBY FORMAT

• Maximum of 12 players per squad,
• We will play 8-a-side with full international rules.
• All players must be registered for insurance purposes
• Teams will be seeded based on submitted squads. Squads must be complete by midday on 1st April.
• Seeding is done at the discretion of Try Tag Rugby, incomplete squads may result in higher seeding than expected.
• Consumption of alcohol is prohibited until the tournament has concluded
• Squads can have a maximum of four players who were capped internationally in 2024.

PRESENTATION

On completion of the finals, the presentation will take place in the clubhouse.

VENUE

The tournament will be held at Yarnbury RFC, ideally situated just over 15 minutes from Leeds City Centre, between Leeds and Bradford. Easily accessible via the Leeds Outer Ring Road, it’s within walking distance of Leeds Bradford Airport and close to major motorways.

On-site male and female changing facilities will be available for use before, during, and after the tournament.

Matches will take place on Yarnbury’s 3G pitch, please note that only plastic studs are permitted.

ON THE DAY

Fixtures for the day are scheduled to take place between 6:15pm and 9pm with exact timings to be confirmed once seeding is complete.

FOOD & DRINK

Players are encouraged to bring their own food and drink. You will be able to refill your water bottle.

PLAYING KIT

ITF approved Tag Rugby shorts or tights are compulsory, available from the Try Tag Rugby shop in advance or via card at our shop on the day. A limited number of shorts will also be available to hire on the day for £5.

STANDARD

Despite this being played with International Rules, this will be a charity tournament with the focus being on socialising and fun! All standards are welcome to register. It will be capped at a maximum of 4 international players per team.

To help facilitate teams registering with their usual tournament squads where players have been selected in the expanding number of Great Britain teams, players in the newer Women’s 35s and Men’s 40s squads will count as 0.5 toward the total international player cap.

REGISTRATION

Team registration is available at the cost of £200 for squads of 12.

Individuals can register for £21. If registering as an individual we’ll add you to a team or create a team of other individuals.
