Great Britain Tag Rugby and Oaklin’s year-long partnership has now concluded following the Tag World Cup.

Great Britain Tag Rugby wishes to thank Oaklin for their support and partnership of the programme over the incredibly successful 12 months that took us from the International Tag Series 2022 to the Tag World Cup 2023 and our first team being crowned World Champions. A particular thanks goes to Josh Carhart who spearheaded the partnership from Oaklin’s side.

In commenting on the conclusion of the partnership Oaklin said: “The best bit about working with Great Britain Tag Rugby was meeting the players. We had Usman, Min, Jade and Issac join us in the office. I felt a huge sense of pride for them when we were chatting about their World Cup squad selection. To know that Oaklin was involved in their journeys to the top of the sport was extremely gratifying.

“Oaklin and Great Britain Tag Rugby are both passionate about inclusion and diversity, the promotion of physical and mental well-being, and the development of high performing teams. Our partnership was built on our shared values and ambitions and had a positive impact on both our communities.”

Partnerships such as this are vital for the success and development of Great Britain Tag Rugby as they look to build on their medal haul at the Tag World Cup 2023 and retain the British & Irish Cup in 2024. With Tag Rugby an amateur sport in Great Britain, players are required to cover their own costs to compete at the elite level of the sport. Partnering with sponsors allows the programme to manage costs for players which improves pathways into the national team for players from all backgrounds.

Opportunities to partner with Great Britain Tag Rugby are available now and any interested organisations can contact Programme Director Will Shepherd (willshepherd@trytagrugby.com) to find out more information and get involved.
