Try Tag Rugby are delighted to announce a new scheme for our valued referees. The new scheme will be split into two that run alongside each other; the Referee Incentive Scheme and the Referee Reward Scheme. Please see below for description of how each scheme works:
The Referee Incentive Scheme
This scheme is similar to the scheme introduced in 2017 in that it has targets for number of games refereed within a single calendar year. The targets also include attendance at Referee Forums to ensure regular referees are continuing to learn, upskill and maintain consistency across all Try Tag Rugby leagues which is especially important when they are refereeing large numbers of games. The rewards in this scheme are mainly event based or credit on the referees's TTR personal statement.
(N.B. TTR credit can only be used for Try Tag Rugby leagues, tournaments or merchandise. There is no cash equivalent. The credit will expire after 12 months and is non-transferable)
Referees who referee at one-day tournaments will have between 3 and 5 games added to their total depending on the length of the tournament.
The Referee Reward Scheme
This scheme is an ongoing scheme and rewards those referees that referee regular games over longer periods as well as those referees that referee a smaller number of games but do so year in year out. No forum attendance is required for the reward scheme and a referee's total will start from 1st January 2017. This also means that referees who start refereeing mid-year still have attainable targets to aim for.
Referees who referee at one-day tournaments will have between 3 and 5 games added to their total depending on the length of the tournament. (N.B. Referees who have received any of these rewards from a previous incentive scheme won't be given them again as standard unless the item has changed it's design or branding. Rewards for 150+ games can only be collected at Referee forums or when refereeing one-day tournaments).
