On Saturday 13th June 2026, TagFest London took place at Twyford Avenue Sports Ground for a day packed with Tag Rugby, netball, live music and unforgettable moments on and off the pitch.

More than 900 players took part across 68 Tag Rugby teams and 20 netball teams, creating a festival atmosphere from the first whistle through to the final song of the night. With 12 pristine Tag Rugby pitches and three netball courts in action throughout the day, Twyford Avenue provided the perfect backdrop for one of the most unique events on the summer sporting calendar.

Players and supporters travelled from across the UK, Ireland and the Netherlands to be part of the action, with teams competing throughout the day while spectators soaked up the sunshine and atmosphere.

A Final worthy of the occasion

As the sun shone, the Competitive Cup Final delivered the perfect ending to a fantastic day of Tag Rugby.

TLC Invitational and Turtles could not be separated at full time, setting up one of the most exciting finishes in the sport: the Drop Off.

The tension around the pitch was palpable as players, teammates and spectators crowded the sidelines to watch the drama unfold.

Turtles struck first, putting themselves within touching distance of the title and leaving TLC with one final opportunity to respond.

They did exactly that.

With composure under pressure, TLC worked the ball into space and crossed the line for a two-point try, sealing a remarkable victory and sparking celebrations from players and supporters alike.

For those watching, it was a reminder of why tournaments continue to produce some of the most memorable moments in the game.

Fancy Dress takes centre stage

No TagFest would be complete without fancy dress, and this year’s theme of London Boroughs and Stations produced some exceptional creativity.

The Taggers Take It All turned heads throughout the day with their human Tube train making its way to Waterloo, while Dragon Bald-Z earned plenty of laughs thanks to their commitment to matching bald caps.

The biggest cheer of the day, however, went to Barbie & Ken (Barbican), whose clever interpretation captured the crowd’s imagination and ultimately earned them the 2026 fancy dress crown.

Rugby League Outsiders join the action

Adding another exciting dimension to the day, Rugby League Outsiders recorded throughout the tournament as part of their growing Tag Rugby series.

For the first time at a Try Tag Rugby event, hosts Karl Walker and Craig Williams were on site interviewing players and staff, capturing stories from across the tournament and giving listeners a behind-the-scenes look at one of the UK’s biggest Tag Rugby festivals.

Their passion for both Rugby League and Tag Rugby was evident throughout the day and helped bring the event to an even wider audience.

Slip n’ slide, live music and a dancefloor full of players

Away from the competition, there was no shortage of entertainment.

The popular Slip N’ Slide and Bull Tag kept players occupied between matches, while the giant festival stage became the focal point as the evening celebrations got underway.

Fujion Musik brought infectious energy with a set packed full of Afrobeats, crowd favourites and classic covers, creating the perfect soundtrack to a glorious summer evening.

As darkness fell, DJ Astech took over, keeping hundreds of players and supporters dancing beneath the lights and smoke machines until late into the night.

By the time the music finished, the dancefloor was still full and the celebrations showed no sign of slowing down.

A huge thank you goes to every player, spectator, referee and member of staff who helped make the day such a success. Their contribution helped create an event that showcased everything that makes the Tag Rugby community special.

Save the Date

If TagFest London is anything to go by, there’s still plenty to look forward to in 2026.
