Try Tag Rugby is excited to unveil its latest addition to its merchandise offering with the launch of a new range tailored specifically for women.
Spearheaded by Steve Devonshire, Head of Design & Merchandise, this range features a variety of women’s Tag Rugby clothing, including what is believed to be the world’s first pair of Tag Rugby shorts designed exclusively for women.
“The development of our women’s range has been a meticulous process spanning more than 18 months, with discussions predating the formal development process.” stated Steve Devonshire.
“We’re proud to introduce the women’s shorts, which have undergone rigorous testing within our community, thanks to the invaluable feedback from individuals including; Jessica Schuppan, Eleanore Richardson, Steph McCabe, Clodagh Niclochlainn, and many others who have tried and tested the shorts over this period.”
The women’s shorts will be rolled out over the coming months across Try Tag Rugby’s network from hire shorts for new players to the new Great Britain players training range. The women’s shorts will be released in a selected number of designs on Try Tag Rugby’s online shop (www.trytagrugby.com/shop), which will be expanded with demand. Teams purchasing custom team kits and UK Tag Nationals players will also benefit from the new shorts.
Complementing the shorts are a range of women’s jerseys, polo shirts, midlayers, and singlets, providing a comprehensive selection for female players.
In addition to the new range of items, Try Tag Rugby will also be offering Player of the Season tights for women for the first time, along with two other styles of Oztag tights to offer a wider range for women. Player of the Season women’s shorts will also be available in the coming months.
“A women’s option for our player of the season (POS) prize has been high on our agenda but we’ve been unable to source tights at a low enough cost to make it viable as a giveaway product,” said Steve Devonshire, “By retailing Oztag tights we’re now able to offer free player of the season tights, plus introduce an alternative range of tights at a slightly lower price point than our UK manufactured tights. We are sure the addition of POS tights will be one which is warmly welcomed by our female players.”
The Player of the Season tights will be available from w/b 8th April.
To ensure the perfect fit, Try Tag Rugby will offer the opportunity to try on women’s shorts and other items at various tournaments throughout the year, starting at the Spring Tournament (London, Saturday 6th April) where the women’s shorts will be available to try on at the merchandise tent.
As part of Try Tag Rugby’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its merchandise offerings, Steve Devonshire has transitioned his focus to working solely on merchandise since the start of 2024. This reorganisation of responsibilities will see him relinquish his previous roles which he’s held for the past eight years in social media, website management, and event photography, facilitating a more concentrated effort as Try Tag Rugby continues to grow throughout the UK.
