We look forward to welcoming players and teams to TagFest Bristol 2024 on Saturday 27th July. We are looking forward to a celebration of Tag Rugby at one of Bristol’s premier sporting venues!

FORMAT
All teams will play through the pool stages to determine whether they’ll play in the Cup, Plate or Bowl for the final phase of the tournament. 

  • All teams will have a guaranteed game time of 90 minutes
  • Maximum of 12 players per squad and a maximum of 4 players who score 1 point on the pitch at any one time
  • All divisions will play under Try Tag Rugby’s standard rules
  • All squads can have a maximum of four internationally capped players 
  • All players must be registered for insurance purposes
  • Teams will be seeded based on submitted squads. Squads must be complete by Friday 12th July
  • Seeding is done at the discretion of Try Tag Rugby, incomplete squads may result in higher seeding than expected
  • Consumption of alcohol by players is prohibited until the tournament has concluded

PRESENTATION & AFTER-PARTY
We will be making the most of the facilities at Lockleaze Sports Centre this year with our afterparty taking place on site. The DJ will start at around 18:30 after everyone has had a chance to eat, and will continue until midnight when the venue closes.

VENUE
TagFest Bristol will take place at Lockleaze Sports Centre, Bonnington Walk, Lockleaze, Bristol BS7 9XF. 

The surface at Lockleaze Sports Centre is 3G rubber crumb. Rugby/football boots with blades are the recommended footwear. Boots with metal studs will not be permitted. Flat soled shoes (trainers) are also not permitted on any pitch at any time. The venue will be checking shoes to ensure this is followed.

There will be toilets and drinking water available as well as changing and shower facilities. If possible, we would encourage you to arrive in your playing kit and then to make use of the time following your final match to change into your after-party outfit.

There is plenty of free parking available at the venue, however please car share where possible.  Vehicles can be left at the venue overnight however the car park is not locked and so this is at the vehicle owner’s risk.

The nearest train station is Filton Abbey Wood which is a 13 minute walk from Lockleaze Sports Centre. Filton Abbey Wood is a 3 minute train journey from the nearest main station which is Bristol Parkway.  Alternatively, Bristol Parkway is a 10-minute taxi ride from LSC.

Bike parking is available at the venue and we would encourage all local players to arrive by bike, on foot or via public transport.

ON THE DAY
Fixtures for the day are scheduled to take place between 11:00am and 5:30pm with exact timings to be confirmed once seeding is complete. All teams and players will be required to arrive at the venue in order to register at least one hour before kick off. Exact registration opening times will be confirmed in the welcome email. The winner’s presentation and drinks will follow the Cup Final with the official after-party continuing onsite until midnight.

PLAYING KIT
ITF approved Tag Rugby shorts or tights are strictly compulsory and will be available to purchase via card on the day.. Details on ITF Approved (Tag Rugby) Shorts / Details on Kit Items not Permitted. Shorts will also be available to hire on the day. 

We will have a merchandise shop available at the event, showcasing new and popular lines of shorts, tights, balls and more.  

REGISTRATION
Team registration is available at the cost of £220 for squads of 12. The deadline for registration is Friday 12th July or when the event sells out.

INTERNATIONAL PLAYERS
All divisions: 4 maximum

Any player named in British, Irish, Australian, New Zealand or South African squads for the 2023 Tag World Cup or British & Irish Cup.

To help facilitate teams registering with their usual tournament squads where players have been selected in the expanding number of Great Britain teams, players in the newer Women’s 35s and Men’s 40s squads will count as 0.5 toward the total international player cap.
