Welcome to Try Tag Rugby juniors

Following the success of our adult activities, which have been running since 2009, and as the leading expert for Tag Rugby in the UK, we are delighted to roll out our first Juniors programme for children aged 7 upwards. On this page you can read about the benefits of playing Tag Rugby and you will also find information about joining our first Juniors programme in Brighton. Other locations in the UK & further age groups will launch in the near future.

BRIGHTON & HOVE JUNIORS

Who are we? Our local activities are headed up by our Regional Licensee Steph McCabe and a team of enthusiastic coaches who are ready to greet junior players at each session.

When do we play? We run weekly sessions on Tuesday evenings and our after-school clubs are coming to local primary schools from September.

Why should you join? Tag Rugby is a safe, inclusive and fun sport which everyone can learn easily. Our weekly outdoor sessions are a great way to meet new friends and be part of a team sport.

BENEFITS OF TAG RUGBY FOR CHILDREN

SAFETY

Tag Rugby is a minimal contact team sport. Our sport offers a way to improve your Rugby skills, build your confidence in the game and develop a love for Rugby with a significantly reduced risk of injuries due to the absence of tackling and contact.

CONVENIENCE

Tag Rugby is regarded as a social sport. Our sessions are held in the same location weekly, at times convenient for busy parents. There are no training sessions, no away trips and no requests for volunteers to help with fundraising!

HEALTHY & FUN

Our sessions are professionally organised, creating a fun & welcoming environment. All children are welcome, regardless of their sporting background or abilities. By helping children to develop a positive relationship with sport and being active from a young age, you significantly improve their mental and physical health.

OUR SPORT

Tag Rugby is a fantastic sport, which children and adults find fun & addictive! Our game, also known as Oztag, originates from Australia where over 100,000 children participate weekly. Participation rates are high given its suitability to people of all shapes, sizes, skill and fitness levels. Inclusivity is at the heart of Tag Rugby.
