The UK Tag Nationals sees the best Tag Rugby players from around the country represent their Region across different age and gender categories, sharing the ultimate goal of becoming National Champions. Over 1000 players, coaches and managers are currently engaged with the UK Tag Nationals across five categories. The UK Tag Nationals is the highest level domestic Tag tournament taking place in the UK and representing your region is a significant accomplishment.

- Southern & Midland Regional Tournament – Reading RFC – 18 July
- Northern & Scottish Regional Tournament – West Park Leeds RFC – 18 July
- London Regional Tournament – Kings House Sports Ground – 19 July

Venue
We are delighted to announce the University of Warwick as the host venue for the 2026 UK Tag Nationals. The university’s exceptional sports facilities, home to major events such as BUCS Big Wednesday, and numerous national-level tournaments, offer an outstanding setting for our highest-level competitions.
Accommodation
We strongly recommend staying on campus to make the most of the event experience. All accommodation is walking distance from the pitches and after-party. Accommodation offers free parking, immediate access to all facilities, and the convenience of a bustling, fully equipped campus designed to meet the needs of every team. When booking, you’ll be able to specify your team so that, where possible, you are housed in the same area. Accommodation options:
- Hotel (bed & breakfast): £90 per night single / £114 per night twin or double
- Student room (bed & breakfast): £54 per night single
Travel
The University of Warwick is right in the centre of England, easy to reach by rail, car or plane from all parts of the UK. By train: Coventry Rail Station, approximately four miles from the campus, is the nearest main-line train station to the University. Outside the station, National Express bus 12X travels onto main campus. Taxis are also available from outside of the station. By car: Guests staying in on-campus accommodation benefit from free parking throughout their stay. Day visitors can pre-pay or use pay-and-display parking. Further details will be provided in advance of the event.
Food and Drink
Try Tag Rugby and the University of Warwick will be combining to provide food and drink offers that will keep players and spectators energised and hydrated throughout the day. The awards presentation will take place on campus before the official after party, also on campus, later in the evening.
Closing Celebration
Following the conclusion of the day’s matches, all players and supporters are invited to the UK Tag Nationals Closing Celebration at Earlsdon Rugby Club.
Doors open at 8pm, with the venue a short walk from the University of Warwick campus.
Earlsdon Rugby Club will be exclusively available to UK Tag Nationals players and supporters for the evening, providing an opportunity to spend time with your region and meet players from across the wider UK Tag Rugby community.
The venue has plenty of outdoor space, two bars and a DJ throughout the evening. Food will be available from Bryan’s Big Bad Burgers and The Smoking Dough Pizza Co., with the venue holding a 24-hour licence.

Playing Kit
- The on-field kit must be of the Region’s correct iteration and will be the only on-field kit permitted to be worn by players. This kit is International Tag Federation approved and is compulsory for play.
- Football boots with metal screw-in studs or cleats are not permitted. Molded sole boots (blades accepted), gym/runners are permitted.
- No jewelry is permitted to be worn, except for studs in ears only.
- Hard peak caps must be turned backwards during play. Soft peak caps are approved alternatives.
- Watches, fit bits, wristbands or similar are permitted only when covered.
Costs
Playing in the UK Tag Nationals is a commitment, both in time and financially. There are a number of potential costs associated with the event, including;
- UKTN Regional Tournaments registration fee – £22
- UK Tag Nationals registration fee (if selected) – £28
- Playing kit – approx £60 (depending on the items needed)
- Accommodation (if required – Friday and/or Saturday)
- Travel to UK Tag Nationals and the UKTN Regional Tournament
- Costs associated with any pitch hire for training
Registration
REGISTRATION NOW CLOSED
- To be considered for their Regional team, players must nominate themselves.
- Players will be required to nominate themselves in a 2-step process via the TTR Website (for insurance purposes) and Google Form (to capture preferences).
- Player nomination will open in March and links will be shared.
- The player nomination and trial window will take place from March to May.
- Most regions will be holding trials to help managers and coaches select the teams.
- Players are encouraged to attend trials however, players who are genuinely unable to attend trials will still be considered for selection.
- All interested players must nominate themselves for selection online.
- Players who wish to be considered for Great Britain Tag Rugby selection for the 2027 season, shall be required to attend the UK Tag Nationals, as this will be the primary event for selection purposes for the 2027 season and athletes are strongly encouraged to be at this event.
