Try Tag Rugby is pleased to announce that we will be adopting the 2022 International Rulebook for all their leagues and tournaments commencing from the 2023 Spring season*.
This change is part of a wider move from the International Tag Federation (ITF) to ensure the game we all love is played to the same rules as much as possible wherever in the world that you play.
The new rulebook is currently available to view in full here.
A summary of the main changes can be found here.
There will be a small number of rules that TryTag Rugby will adopt in our leagues and tournaments which can be found here. In addition, some TTR Rules (due to be added to the International Rulebook update) can be found here.
Whilst we appreciate that some rules changing may be confusing for a time we believe that this a positive change for our game. Regardless of whether you are a seasoned International player or playing in your first season you will be playing the same set of rules.
It’s hoped that in particular it will help the elite players here in the UK, allowing them to regularly play under the same rules that they would when competing Internationally.
*Super Leagues in London, Yorkshire and Manchester will adopt the new rulebook from January 1st 2023.
