Sold out London Spring Tournament 2026 kicks off tournament season in style

On Saturday 11th April 2026, the London Spring Tournament returned to King’s House Sports Ground, launching the Tag Rugby tournament calendar with a sold-out event and a full day of competition and big team energy.

The first of London’s three major tournaments welcomed 76 teams from across the UK, Ireland and France, setting the tone for another huge year of Tag Rugby.

Players competed across Competitive, Social and Beginner categories. With travelling teams, packed pitches and a buzzing crowd throughout the day, the tournament delivered everything you’d expect from one of the UK’s leading Tag Rugby events.

And while Spring threatened its usual rain, it held off and delivered a sun-soaked final, with spectators lining the pitches to watch the biggest moments unfold.

Competitive Cup: Sharkies edge a classic Final

The standout match of the day came in the Competitive Cup Final, where Sharkies narrowly defeated TLC (No Subs) in a thrilling 4-3 victory.

With the sun finally breaking through and players and spectators crowding the sidelines, the atmosphere hit its peak. The scoreline says it all, a tight, high-quality contest that could have gone either way, decided by fine margins.

Social and Beginner categories deliver big moments

In the Mixed Social Final, Palmeira Porpoises secured a confident 3-1 win over Gotcha5, combining structure and flair to take the title.

Meanwhile, the Beginner Final showcased the next wave of talent, with Entente Cordiale overcoming The Way the Cookie Scrumbles 5-3 in an entertaining and free-flowing game.

Across the day, an incredible 229 matches were played, with a staggering 1,953 tries scored – highlighting the fast-paced, attacking nature of the game.

New for 2026: Recovery Zone a huge hit

A major addition for this year’s tournament was the introduction of the Player Recovery Zone, giving players access to sports massage, taping, sauna and ice baths throughout the day.

Designed to help players manage multiple games and recover properly between matches, the zone quickly became one of the most talked-about features of the event, adding a new level of professionalism and care to the tournament experience.

Dinosaur, DJ and a packed dancefloor

Off the pitch, the tournament delivered just as much personality.

T-Rex on Tour made a memorable appearance, bringing a full-sized dinosaur to the sidelines, because no Tag Rugby tournament is complete without one, apparently.

As the final whistle blew, attention turned to the after party, where DJ Astech kept a packed and sweaty dancefloor moving well into the night, rounding off the day in proper Tag Rugby fashion.
