CATEGORIES

Enter your team at the right skill level to get the most enjoyment:

  • Mixed Beginner – New to Tag Rugby this year? A relaxed, welcoming space to give it a go and have some fun. 
  • Mixed Social – This category is a great fit if your team knows how to play Tag Rugby. The majority of your team’s skill level is amateur, self taught, and you’ve had no formal continuous training. 
  • Mixed Competitive – The perfect category to flex your skills and play some great heads up Tag Rugby. Your skill level is intermediate to high. You’ve attended training sessions and understand how to play with structure. 

FORMAT

  • All teams will have a guaranteed game time of 90 minutes.
  • Maximum of 12 players per squad, maximum of four 1-point scoring players on the pitch at any one time in the mixed categories.
  • Standard 7-a-side Try Tag Rugby rules apply for all categories.
  • All players must be registered for insurance purposes. Squads must be complete by 31 May. Squads not complete risk being seeded higher. 
  • International cap limits apply. Please see information further down this page.
  • Try Tag Rugby reserves the right to move teams into different categories if they have self-assessed incorrectly. 
  • Players must be aged 18 or over.

PRESENTATION & AFTER PARTY

On completion of the finals, the presentation will take place on the main stage before the after party kicks-off for all players with live music, multiple bars and food options, followed by a DJ and dance area until late.  Headline Act – to be announced.

VENUE

Wasps FC, Twyford Avenue Sports Ground, Twyford Ave, London W3 9QA

  • Accessible from the nearest stations; West Acton, Acton Town, Ealing Broadway, and Ealing Common. Or on major bus routes along Uxbridge Road and Twyford Avenue.
  • Parking is limited, we highly recommend using public transport where possible.
  • Female and male changing and shower facilities available. 
  • Dogs are allowed in the car park and pre-club areas on a lead. The exception is guide dogs.

ON THE DAY

Teams are welcome to arrive onsite from 9am. The first games will be scheduled to start at 10am, play will conclude by 7pm. Exact timings will be shared in the week prior to the tournament once the draw is complete.  Browse the Try Tag Rugby Merchandise Shop, showcasing the new and popular lines of shorts, tights, balls and more.  Take advantage of the Player Recovery Zone. Designed to support you throughout the day and post-match, the space will help you for multiple games by reducing soreness and supporting faster recovery. The zone includes; sauna, plunge pools, massage and taping services. A variety of food vendors will be onsite throughout the day and into the evening, while outside and inside bars will keep the drinks following during the biggest after party of the year! Alcohol will only be served to non-players during the tournament. Once out of the tournament, players are able to purchase alcohol. No alcohol will be permitted to be brought on site. 

PLAYING KIT

ITF approved Tag Rugby shorts or tights are compulsory. You can purchase these on the day at the TTR shop or Try Tag Rugby online shop in advance. A limited number of shorts will also be available to hire on the day for £8. Details on ITF Approved (Tag Rugby) Shorts / Details on Kit Items not Permitted.

REGISTRATION

INTERNATIONAL PLAYER POINTS

Mixed Competitive – 6 points maximum Skill level is intermediate to high. Players have attended training sessions (rugby or Tag Rugby) and understand how to play with structure.
Mixed Social – 3 points maximum The majority of the team’s skill level is amateur, self taught, and they’ve had no formal continuous training.
Mixed Beginner – 0 points For teams that are new to Tag Rugby / less than 1 year playing. Players count towards the cap if they:

Point values:

  • 1 point – Capped at Open or Seniors level
  • 0.5 points – Capped in U22s or Masters level
  • 0 points – Capped in Over 50s

AFTER PARTY & NON PLAYER TICKETS

Combined after party and spectator tickets can be purchased via the Try Tag Rugby shop for £10.50 in advance, or £13 at the gate (if the event doesn’t sell-out). All participating players gain free entry to the after party.
