Salford Summer Tournament 2026

We’re bringing something new to the calendar!

Summer 2026 sees the launch of our Salford Summer Tournament – our first summer Tag tournament, bringing social teams together from Salford, Greater Manchester and across the UK for a full day of fun, social Tag.

Expect good vibes, and a proper festival feel both on and off the pitch. We’re currently working on some exciting plans for an after-match party, with more details to be announced soon – but rest assured, we’re aiming to finish the day in style.

WHAT TO EXPECT

• 90 minutes of game time
• Pool stages followed by divisions
• Suitable for players of all abilities, including beginners.
• Food & bar
• Epic after party
• Lunch-time entertainment activity 
• Grab your fancy dress outfit and play in style (theme to be confirmed)
• Travelling teams from around the UK

FORMAT

• • All teams will have a guaranteed game time of 90 minutes.
  • All teams and players will be required to arrive at the venue in order to register at least one hour before kick off with the games scheduled to take place between 11am and 5pm. Exact registration opening times will be confirmed in the welcome email.
  • Maximum of 12 players per squad, maximum of four 1-point scoring players on the pitch at any one time.
  • Standard 7-a-side Try Tag Rugby rules apply.
  • All players must be registered for insurance purposes.
  • Teams will be seeded based on submitted squads. Squads must be complete by 26th June.

• Seeding is done at the discretion of Try Tag Rugby, incomplete squads may result in higher seeding than expected. 

• International cap limits apply. Please see information further down this page.
• Players must be 18 or over. 

VENUE

Salford Roosters Rugby Club, Hallsworth Road Eccles, Salford, Hallsworth Rd, Manchester M30 7LS

• A five minute walk from a bus stop that operates multiple routes, including from Manchester city centre.
• A five minute drive from Eccles Train and Metrolink. 
• Free parking available.
• Changing and shower facilities available. 
• Please note, dogs are not permitted at this venue unless required for assistance.

ON THE DAY

Teams are welcome to arrive onsite from 10:00 with the first games starting at 11:00. Play will conclude by 17:00. 

After the conclusion of the tournament, there will be an awards presentation at the venue. The after match party will take place in Manchester city centre – details to follow.

Spectators are welcome free of charge.

Breakfast, lunch and drinks will be available to purchase on-site at the club house.

Alcohol will only be served to non-players during the tournament. Once out of the tournament players are able to purchase alcohol. No alcohol will be permitted to be brought on site.

PLAYING KIT

ITF approved Tag Rugby shorts or tights are compulsory, available via card from our shop on the day. A limited number of shorts will also be available to hire on the day for £5.

REGISTRATION

Register by 26th June  — spaces are limited and will close as soon as we reach capacity!

Team registration – £245 for squads of 12.

An international player cap applies for this event. Please see the details below. It is the team’s responsibility to ensure the limit is not exceeded, if you have any queries, please contact us.

INTERNATIONAL PLAYER POINTS

All teams at Salford Summer Tournament have 4 points maximum.

Players count towards the cap if they:

• Played international Tag Rugby representing a nation in 2025.
• Were named in the 2025 GB Tournament Squad – these players can be found on the International Talent Cap Players for 2026 Events

Point values:

• 1 point – Capped at Open or Seniors level
• 0.5 points – Capped in U22s or Masters level
• 0 points – Capped in Over 50s
