You asked, we delivered! After a year off, TagFest Bristol is officially back and returning to the fantastic facilities at Lockleaze Sports Centre.

Whether you’re a local team or traveling from across the UK, get ready for a great day of Tag, music, and summer vibes. All matches will be played on glorious 3G astroturf, ensuring fast, high-quality action, whatever the weather brings.

Expect plenty of games, prizes, and our famous fancy dress contest throughout the day. After the final whistle and presentation of the winner’s prizes, we’re heading to Bristol’s Harbourside to keep the celebrations going in the heart of the city’s best bars.

WHAT TO EXPECT

FORMAT

  • All teams will have a guaranteed game time of 90 minutes.
  • Maximum of 12 players per squad, maximum of four 1-point scoring players on the pitch at any one time.
  • Teams will play in pool stages in the morning, followed by Cup, Plate and Bowl categories in the afternoon
  • Standard 7-a-side Try Tag Rugby rules apply for all categories.
  • All players must be registered for insurance purposes. Squads must be completed by 3rd July.
  • Players must be 18 or over.

VENUE

Lockleaze Sports Centre, Bonnington Walk, Lockleaze, Bristol BS7 9XF.

The surface at Lockleaze Sports Centre is 3G rubber crumb. Rugby/football boots with plastic moulded studs are the recommended footwear. Boots with metal studs will not be permitted. Flat soled shoes (trainers) are also not permitted on any pitch at any time. The venue will be checking shoes to ensure this is followed.

There will be toilets and drinking water available as well as changing and shower facilities.

There is plenty of free parking available at the venue, however please car share where possible. Vehicles can be left at the venue overnight however the car park is not locked and so this is at the vehicle owner’s risk.

The nearest train station is Filton Abbey Wood which is a 10 minute walk from Lockleaze Sports Centre. Filton Abbey Wood is a 3 minute train journey from the nearest main station which is Bristol Parkway. Alternatively, Bristol Parkway is a 10-minute taxi ride from LSC.

Bike parking is available at the venue and we would encourage all local players to arrive by bike, on foot or via public transport.

ON THE DAY

Teams are welcome to arrive onsite from 09:30 with the first games starting at 11:00. Play will conclude by 18:00.

Food will be available to purchase from the kitchen and bar on site. We will be meeting up for an after party in Bristol’s historic harbourside after the tournament has completed – our starting venue is currently TBC.

Alcohol will only be served to non-players during the tournament. Once out of the tournament players are able to purchase alcohol. No alcohol will be permitted to be brought on site.

PLAYING KIT

ITF approved Tag Rugby shorts or tights are compulsory, available via card at our shop on the day. A limited number of shorts will also be available to hire on the day.

Fancy dress is always an important part of TagFest Bristol. The theme for this year will be announced on our social media before the event.

REGISTRATION

Register by 3rd July  — spaces are limited to 20 teams only, and will close as soon as we reach capacity!

Team registration – £250 for squads of 12.
