After a successful inaugural Tagfest Sheffield 2025 we are proud to bring Tagfest Sheffield back to you for 2026. Bringing teams and players from all over the UK for a day of social Tag. The vibes everyone brought last year was fantastic. We are going to be bringing the Sheffield Tagfest Bingo card back with loads of prizes to be won for teams and individuals.
Sheffield is more than just Arctic Monkeys and the Full Monty, it’s the city with more trees than people, vast range of music, fantastic nightlife and many activities such as hiking in the peak district or going to watch the different sports we have to offer, plus visiting Sheffield, its home of Henderson’s relish. TagFest Sheffield gives ample opportunities to seize which would make a weekend to remember.
WHAT TO EXPECT
- 12+ teams across all levels
- 90 minutes of game time
- Pool stages followed by Cup and Shield playoffs
- Social and beginner friendly

- Travelling teams from all over the UK.
FORMAT
- All teams will have a guaranteed game time of 90 minutes
- Maximum of 12 players per squad, maximum of four 1-point scoring players on the pitch at any one time
- Standard 7-a-side Try Tag Rugby rules
- All players must be registered for insurance purposes. Squads must be complete by 20th July
- International cap limits apply. Please see information further down this page.
- Players can be aged 16 or over on the day of the event.
- Players under the age of 18 will need to provide a completed parent consent form before the day of the tournament.
VENUE
Sheffield Tigers RUFC, Hathersage Rd, Sheffield S17 3AB
- Parking available onsite
- 20 minute taxi drive from Sheffield train station.
- Changing and shower facilities available – particularly important for getting yourself changed into your after party outfit once the games are finished.
- Dogs ARE permitted at this event.
The venue is just off Hathersage road A625. Rough estimated driving time to Sheffield Tigers RUFC from the following locations;
- Leeds – 1 hour 20 minutes
- Manchester – 1 hour 30 minutes
- Wigan – 1 hour 45 minutes
- York – 2 hours

ON THE DAY
Teams are welcome to arrive onsite from 10:00 with the first games scheduled to start at 11:00. Play will conclude by 18:00.
The Clubhouse will be available during lunch break and evening presentations ensuring you have lots of delicious options to keep yourself energised between matches. Players are welcome to bring their own snacks. The after-match social will take place in the evening, full details to follow!
Spectators are welcome free of charge at the tournament.
Alcohol will only be served to non-players during the tournament. Once out of the tournament players are able to purchase alcohol. No alcohol will be permitted to be brought on site.
PLAYING KIT
ITF approved Tag Rugby shorts or tights are compulsory, available from the Try Tag Rugby shop. A limited number of shorts will also be available to hire on the day for £8.

REGISTRATION
Register by 20th July — spaces are limited and will close as soon as we reach capacity!
Team registration is £240 for squads of 12.
Individual registration is £25 and we will try to allocate you to an existing team.
An international player cap applies for this event. Please see the details below. It is the team’s responsibility to ensure the limit is not exceeded, if you have any queries, please contact us.
INTERNATIONAL PLAYER POINTS
All teams at TagFest Sheffield have 4 points maximum.
Players count towards the cap if they:
- Played international Tag Rugby representing a nation in 2025.
- Were named in the 2025 GB Tournament Squad – these players can be found on the International Talent Cap Players for 2026 Events
Point values:
- 1 point – Capped at Open or Seniors level
- 0.5 points – Capped in U22s or Masters level
- 0 points – Capped in Over 50s
