ALL INCLUSIVE ALL WELCOME LGBTQIA+ EVENT

Join us for our annual Try Tag Rugby Pride Tournament, taking place at East London Rugby Club on the 5th of June 2026

Absolutely ALL welcome! This year is going to be louder, brighter, and even more fun! An evening of partying and play for all LGBTQIA+ players who are keen to get involved and celebrate the community.

A percentage of the registration fees goes towards Terrance Higgins Trust, which funds vital services, including a one-of-a-kind sexual health helpline, HIV testing, counseling, and peer support programmes.

WHAT TO EXPECT

• 8 mixed Tag Rugby teams beginners to elite (elite bring some freshies into the team too to mix it up a bit) welcome.
• 7-a-side Tag.
• 3 x 15-minute pool stages followed by a Cup and Plate showdown 75 minutes of game time.
• Awesome tunes.
• Face painting stand – LOTS OF GLITTER.
• We expect dress up – think sparkles, rainbows and flare (tag appropriate of course).
• Fun prizes.
• Continue the Party at the East London Rugby club house.

TAG RUGBY FORMAT

• Maximum of 12 players per squad, with maximum 4 1-point-players on the pitch at any one time.
• All players must be registered for insurance purposes.
• Try Tag Rugby standard rules apply.
• Teams will be seeded based on submitted squads. Squads must be complete by midday on 29th of May.
• Seeding is done at the discretion of Try Tag Rugby, incomplete squads may result in higher seeding than expected.
• Consumption of alcohol is prohibited until the tournament games have concluded.

PRESENTATION & AFTER PARTY

• Pints, Presentation and a surprise activity in the club house.
• Kick-ons to be expected – Must be out of the club house by 11:50PM – turn off all those Saturday morning alarms.

VENUE

The Pride tournament will take place at East London Rugby Club. It is a short 5 minute walk from the West Ham Station. There is also parking (but then you have to limit/reframe from the pints…BOOOO). There are also change rooms and toilets available at the venue, so you’re welcome to get ready at the venue HOWEVER if you are using glitter do it outside – that stuff is the herpes of the arts and craft world; there’s no getting rid of it!

ON THE DAY

Full timings for the day will be released once the tournament capacity is reached but we would recommend getting to the venue at 6 pm, half an hour before the first kick-off to ensure you secure your team a good spot and can boot up and warm up with ample amount of time. Bring some snacks to share for the team – or you are welcome to order food to the venue; as there is limited food options in the area.

PLAYING KIT

ITF-approved Tag Rugby shorts or tights are compulsory, available from the Try Tag Rugby shop in advance or via card at our shop on the day. A limited number of shorts will also be available to hire on the day for £8.

STANDARD

• All teams and standards welcome.
• Ranked to 8 and then split into 2 different pools of equal stretch – which then results in a play-off of Plate and Cup.

REGISTRATION

Team registration is available at the cost of £150 for squads of 12. Guaranteed 5 games.

Individuals can register for £15. If registering as an individual we’ll add you to a team or create a team of other individuals.
