The Perfect Send Off – 2025 Ends with Biggest London Autumn Tournament Ever

On Saturday 18th October 2025, Try Tag Rugby brought the curtain down on an incredible season with the final major tournament of the year, the London Autumn Tournament at Kings House Sports Ground.

The landmark event attracted a record breaking 70 teams from across the UK, making it the largest Autumn Tag Rugby tournament ever staged, and marking the first time four new categories were introduced: Men’s 37s, Mixed Beginner’s, Mixed Social, and Open Competitive.

Record Turnout and New Categories

With players representing from across the country, the Autumn Tournament showcased the continued growth of Tag Rugby. From first-time players to long-time community members, teams embraced the opportunity to end the year on a high, while celebrating the launch of the exciting new categories that broadened the competition for 2025.

Tournament Highlights

In the Open Competitive, Gotchya came out on top after a thrilling day of matches, defeating Northern Monkeys in a closely contested final.

The Open Social Tier 1 Cup saw Gotcha5 edge past Turton’s Turtles, while in the Open Social Tier 2 Cup, Taggatubbies took home the title over How I Scrummed Your Mother.

Meanwhile, in the Beginner Social, Ava Ion Anonymous claimed victory after a strong showing against Mr Offside.

In the Men’s 37s category, the aptly named Dad Bod Squad overcame the Walruses in a spirited final to take the title.

A Fun and Social Finale

As the sun set on an action packed day, the atmosphere turned up. Players relaxed on deck chairs, music played into the night, and celebrations continued until midnight – a fitting reflection of the fun, social spirit that defines Try Tag Rugby.
