Try Tag Rugby is excited to offer a unique opportunity to individuals based in Acton and Richmond.

Following a comprehensive review of our London Leagues, we’re opening the door for you to own and operate these leagues and surrounding areas as separate licences. The successful licence model, already proven in other regions of the country, will allow someone based in the area, with a local understanding and valuable local networks, to buy the licence and focus on developing Try Tag Rugby in the area to its full potential.

While Acton and Richmond have existing leagues, there are also other vibrant areas of outer London with untapped potential, such as Kingston, Croydon, Bromley, and select areas nearby to London in Essex and Hertfordshire that are also available as licences.

Whether you are already a dedicated Try Tag Rugby advocate, an aspiring sports professional or have always dreamt of owning a business doing something that can make a meaningful impact, this is a fantastic opportunity to change your life and the lives of others.

Operate part-time alongside your current job or scale it up to a full-time occupation as you see fit. You will receive comprehensive support to start and run your own Try Tag Rugby licence in your local area using a proven business model (operating since 2009). This opportunity allows you to build a successful and rewarding business within a larger network, helping you achieve your personal and career goals. If you reside in any of these areas, please review the criteria below. If it sounds like the right fit for you, click here and complete the contact form – we’re eager to hear from you.

What you’ll need

  • A passion for sports
  • A desire to own your own business, with the support that comes with franchising/licensing
  • An entrepreneurial spirit with drive, vision, and a commitment to succeed whilst also willing to follow licence guidelines
  • To be a social people person with a passion about making a real difference in the lives of others
  • To be organised, a good time manager and have an ability to collaborate with others towards a common goal
  • To be prepared to make an initial investment, as this is a franchise/licence opportunity

For anybody thinking about starting a licence here is some advice from current Try Tag Rugby Edinburgh Licence: “Think carefully, do you love sport? Do you love getting out meeting people? You also have to be able to do some hard work and it does take a bit of time especially at the start, but it is one of the most rewarding things I’ve done. Hard work generally pays off, but this pays off in a way that you are actually having an impact on people’s lives. I would say look into it, enquire, you don’t have to commit to it, ask your questions and think whether your area will work.”

What does this mean for players in the existing Acton and Richmond leagues?
If you currently play in Acton and Richmond, the first thing to say is there is no need to worry. The leagues won’t change and we believe this to be a very exciting development for players in the current leagues. Licensing areas has been a great success elsewhere in the country, you only have to take a look at the most recent licence areas like Edinburgh and Brighton & Hove for evidence of this. You will still be a Try Tag Rugby player and the leagues will run and be operated in line with TTR guidelines. The difference is you will be in a league that is operated by somebody who lives in the area, knows it well, with local contacts/networks who can strongly focus on its growth and ongoing success.
