Spring Tournament 2024 Review

Try Tag Rugby’s Spring Tournament marked the return of major tournament action in London as teams descended on King’s House Sports Ground from across the UK, Ireland and France. The competitive action across four divisions proved even more breath-taking than the unseasonable wind while the after party ran long into the night in true Tag style!

The most successful team in the history of TTR tournaments returned to winning ways after a quiet 2023, taking a 3-0 victory against Spring Tournament final debutants TLC Invitational. A tense, scoreless match in the first ten minutes looked destined for a drop-off decider until Grace Brown caught a long pass on the right wing, squeezed through a gap between two TLC defenders, and touched down for a crucial two point score. Another try was to follow for Turtles despite their opponent’s best efforts and their Division 1 medals accompanied Brown’s own Player of Tournament haul.

Loosey Goosey Baby! successfully defended their Division 2 crown having won the same tournament a year ago while Les Frogs de Fronton capped off a magnifique day for French touring sides as they topped the Division 3 standings. Red Hot Chili Steppers rounded things out with their Division 4 win.

The next major tournament is TagFest London, taking place on 8th June at Richmond Athletic Ground. Team and individual entry is open now with spectator and after party tickets going on sale this week. With four divisions, six food vendors, three bars, an onsite netball tournament and headline sets from four time world DJ champion Mr Switch, TagFest London 2024 is set to be the best edition yet
