We’re excited to announce that Try Tag Rugby is launching in two new regions this Early Summer, with leagues kicking off at the end of April and early May in Glasgow South and Bournemouth.
The Try Tag Rugby community continues to grow across the UK, giving more people than ever the opportunity to experience the fun, friendships and energy that make our leagues special. These new locations build on the 11,000 players who took to the pitch each week last summer across 33 Cities, Towns and Boroughs.
The first leagues in each region will kick off as follows:
Bournemouth: Starting Monday 27th April at Meyrick Park
Glasgow South: Starting Wednesday 6th May at Glasgow Green
Both locations have secured central venues, making the leagues easily accessible to people across each area. The mixed adult leagues are open to people of all genders and abilities, with registration available for teams as well as individuals who will be placed on a team. As always, no previous rugby experience is required.
A series of Free Taster Sessions will take place in the run up to each league, giving new players the chance to Give Tag A Try in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
Bournemouth FREE Tasters: 7th, 13th and 18th April
Glasgow South FREE Tasters: 15th, 22nd and 25th April
If you’ve recently moved to either area, or know someone who has, now is the perfect time to help them get involved.
The Glasgow South licence will be run by Nathan Wray, who previously played Try Tag Rugby in London before relocating to Scotland. The Bournemouth licence will be led by Harry Pew, who first discovered Try Tag Rugby while living in Newcastle and is now bringing that same community focused approach to the south coast.
Try Tag Rugby National Franchising Director Carl Duckels said:
“It’s fantastic to see Try Tag Rugby continuing to grow. Both cities have strong sporting cultures and vibrant communities, and with Nathan and Harry leading the way, we are confident they will be great additions to the wider network.”
With continued interest from new areas, further regional announcements are expected in the coming weeks.
League Registration
Registration is now open for individuals, groups and teams. If signing up as an individual or small group, Try Tag Rugby will combine players to create a full team.
Free Tag Rugby Taster Sessions
Give Tag Rugby a Try before committing to a league by attending one of the Free Taster Sessions. These fun and friendly one hour sessions are perfect for players of all genders, sporting abilities and rugby experience levels, including complete beginners.
Refereeing
Try Tag Rugby is also recruiting referees in both regions. Refereeing is a great way to stay involved, meet new people and earn additional income, with full training provided.
